History of zoological demesne Delhi
The National Zoological Park, popularly known as Delhi Zoo, is one of the oldest and largest zoos in India. In 1952 the Indian Board for Wildlife created a commission to look into creating a zoo for Delhi. Bachkheti of the Indian Forest Service to oversee the creation of the zoo.
The Park was formally inaugurated on 1st November 1959 by Mr Punjab Rao Deshmukh, Hon'ble Minister of the Government of India, and was originally known as Delhi Zoo. In the time 1982, it was given the status of a National Zoological Park with the idea of it being the model zoo of the country.
The zoo can be seen on the bottom or using a battery-operated vehicle which can be rented at the zoo. Callers aren't permitted to bring any food other than drinking water, but there's a canteen in the zoo. The zoo is closed every Friday and the public leaves.
The Indian Board for Wildlife felt the need to have a zoo in the public capital of the country to give recreation to people at large. The National Zoological Park is open daily from 900 a.m. to 430 p.m. Admission is INR 60 for grown-ups and INR 30 for children. The zoo is closed on Fridays.
