WALK THROUGH GALLE FORT
This is one of the most popular effects to do in Galle and when we weren't at our hostel, we were nearly always at Galle Fort. The effects to see in Galle Fort is aplenty – the timepiece palace, the Dutch Reforms Church, the Dutch Hospital, a Maritime gallery, Meeran Mosque, Flag Rock, Triton Bastion, and Star Bastion – to name many. You can watch scholars and locals playing justice or pop into any one of the several bars, caffs
Just walking down the cobblestone thoroughfares will make you feel like you’ve been whisked down to Europe. Keep in mind, it'll take you around 2 hours to walk through the stronghold and you can only enter through the main gate.
While it's said that the evenings at Galle Fort are special it was raining on both gloamings that we were in Galle and we didn't go. However, stop by to end your day lying on the lawn or sitting on the stronghold walls and gaping at the setting sun over the Indian Ocean, If the rainfall is favorable. This is the time when locals visit the stronghold and you may get the occasion to meet and mingle with them.
Phenomenon at the monuments
Given the inconceivable emulsion of culture in Galle, you’ll find armature that could make you forget you were in Sri Lanka, to begin with. While the stronghold itself is a massive monument, within its walls you'll find churches, galleries, and further that will impress those who aren't interested in armature and culture. We visited the All Saints Church which is an Anglican style church erected in a Gothic, puritanical style. Another church you can see is the Dutch Reformed Church, and the innards are veritably different from the first church – kitschy while also being simpler and unornamented.
